Frequently Asked Dentistry Questions
I have a clicking, popping, painful jaw. How can you help?
Persistent jaw pain is a common indicator of TMJ/TMD, or temporomandibular dysfunction. Schedule an appointment with us right away — Dr. DiGrazia provides TMJ therapy for jaw discomfort.
What do I do if it’s been a long time since I visited the dentist?
Don’t worry about it — just schedule a visit with Somerset Dental Arts today! We are proud to practice in a judgement-free zone, and that means we never make our patients feel guilty or embarrassed for letting their dental hygiene habits slip. Contact us to book a checkup and cleaning today.
How do I know if I have gum disease?
The most common indicators of gum disease are bleeding, tender, swollen gums. If you notice blood after you brush or floss your teeth, schedule an appointment with us for a periodontal evaluation.
Can I still get teeth whitening if I have sensitive teeth?
Patients who are more likely to experience sensitivity with teeth whitening may benefit most from an at-home whitening treatment. Results are revealed more gradually with a take-home treatment, allowing your teeth to slowly adjust to the whitening solution. Be sure to let us know if you are prone to tooth sensitivity — it can also help to brush with an anti-sensitivity toothpaste leading up to the treatment.
Do you offer adult braces?
Yes! We are pleased to offer patients Invisalign, clear, removable braces. The treatment is a discreet, comfortable, convenient alternative to traditional metal brackets and wires.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
Somerset Dental Arts accepts a number of dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Contact us to discuss your insurance plan in detail.
